I’ve created several blog series to help you walk in freedom, security and confidence in order to be a blessing to others.
Each blog post has a corresponding video, which is included in the post itself (or has a link to the video).
So, you can either read the post, watch the video, or do both.
I have been born again for close to 30 years. Having no “religious” back ground I grew in Christ’s love and compassion and lived to serve Him from my heart…I never gave a thought to if I was acceptable to God by works. But over the years religious teaching (a subtle, confusing message of grace plus works to be saved) crept in and caused me to fall into this shame and condemnation cycle. I lost my joy, confidence in God’s love for me…It has been painful…But as I have been listening to Bas’ teaching I have been feeling these burdens lift as the revelation by the Holy Spirit shines through. I literally felt as if a ton of bricks had come off my body. It had been as if I were buried and someone had freed me, I felt born again again. Thank you! – Gail Blauvelt, New Jersey, U.S.A.
Here are the series.
Mistakes You Don’t Want to Make
In this series I debunk the mindset that says there is a division between the sacred and the secular; a distinction is made between what is spiritual and what is worldly. This distinction is unbiblical! The false dichotomy between the sacred and secular has been forever abolished in Christ.
Since you are a spiritual being who lives in a human body everything you do is 100% spiritual and 100 % natural. There isn’t a single activity you do today that isn’t spiritual. Every action is spiritual because you are a spirit being.
This split-thinking is still very prevalent among us and evident by the many lies we believe. For instance, the idea that “we need to put God first place in our life” or that “we should love God more then anything else” are pure lies.
This series will help you recognize and replace lies that fuel performance-oriented living and live from a place of rest and confidence.

How to Discern Law versus Grace to Ensure Your Freedom
A law mentality is an old way of thinking that causes you to rely on your performance to make things happen.
Instead of relying on Christ’s performance, through self-effort, you try to become clean and Christlike, beg God to bring revival, ask for more love and power and strive to get closer to God. This is a recipe for failure, accompanied with guilt and condemnation.
In this series you’ll learn that the Bible comes to us in two forms of speech: law and grace. Also, you will learn to recognize the difference between a law mindset versus a grace mindset. The difference is bondage versus freedom. (the titles aren’t the same as the ones in the blogpost, but do correspond with the content).
To quickly spot if there are areas where your mind needs renewing, I’ve made a list of 101 comparisons between a law mindset versus a grace mindset. Your life is transformed to the degree your mind is renewed (Rom. 12:2). Grap a drink, a snack, and check where you might need to change your beliefs on God, yourself or others. Again, for your freedom sake.
Being Secure and Confident in Your Relationship with God
And since you have the same standing and relationship with the Father as Jesus has you never have to worry, doubt, or have unrest about whether things are still all right between God and you.
For example, because Jesus never backslides in His relationship with the Father, so you never backslide in your relationship with the Father. Also, there’s never a break or distance in your relationship with the Father, since Jesus never has a break or distance in His with the Father.
Some of these truths might be a hard cookie to swallow, especially if you’ve been listening to religious mumbo jumbo that’s based on human experience rather than on SPIRITUAL TRUTH.
Even though you might think or feel there’s something wrong in your relationship with God the truth is that there’s never a distance or problem in your relationship with Him because your relationship with Him is based on Jesus’ relationship with the Father.
How will this series help you? To realize that your Grace walk isn’t about your relationship with God, but actually about Jesus’ relationship with God takes a burden of your shoulders for you to try to be more intimate with your heavenly Father and puts the responsibility on Jesus’ shoulders. Your responsibility is to rest in Him!
How to be a Fruitful Believer: John 15:1-9
John 15 seems to promote self-effort on steroids. Work hard, do your best and you will abide in Jesus and He in you. However, if you fail to keep your end of the bargain, you run the risk of being cut off, pruned or even cast out and thrown into the fire! Really?!
The Gospel never makes you feel uncertain or fearful. If you think salvation or your “abiding in the Vine” depends even one bit on you and your efforts, then you’re misunderstanding these verses.
We make our way from verse one till nine, discovering that statements like, “Remain in Me, and I will remain in you” are not conditions to make us sweat; but promises to make us rest!
You learn what Gods pruning method is and what “God cutting off unfruitful branches” means. Plus, how you can know you’re not a branch that is cast out and thrown into the fire.
What Does Fasting Look Like Under Grace?
In this two part series we cover: what fasting doesn’t accomplish (this list might contain some surprises for you), the Bridal fast, fasting in relation to driving out demons, fasting in relation to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit during Pentecost, and the abstinence from sex in marriage for the purpose of fasting.
Plus you’ll hear how fasting under grace really looks like (it might not be what you think). And, if you should fast under grace.
What is the Unforgivable Sin? And Have You Blasphemed Against the Holy Spirit?
Misunderstanding about the sin that can’t be forgiven has caused much confusion and fear and many secretly ask themselves if they’ve committed the unforgivable sin. In this two-part series definition is given to what the unforgivable sin is and you’ll find out if you can be in danger of committing this sin.
How to Break Free From the Cycle of Motivation-Condemnation-Rededication
Many Christians are stuck in a cycle of motivation-condemnation-rededication because of the false belief that says, “God expects me to please Him by living the Christian life.” The truth is that God is not expecting you to live a Christ-like life! Rather, He invites you to allow Christ to live His Christ-life through you! No more false MOTIVATION. No more CONDEMNATION. No more REDEDICATION. You are FREE.
18 Things the Holy Spirit does not do in your life
What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us – A.W. Tozer. What you think about God is the foundation of your beliefs about life, family, identity, purpose, etc. Then your beliefs, in turn, set the course for how you live your life. Seeing the Holy Spirit through the lens of grace without a mixture of law allows revelation of the Holy Spirit and His work to become clear. Discover 18 things the Holy Spirit most definitely does not do in your life.
